Art & Music

A frontier with music and art

Astrobotic Technology is collaborating with the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University to implement diverse artistic endeavors on the lunar surface.  Corporations, as well, can focus their involvement on making music and art 239,000 miles from Earth.

The Moon Arts Project at CMU includes lunar performances by the Moon rover, lunar cargo delivered on the mission, and lunar interaction between the public and the expedition.  For example, the rover will engrave large-scale designs on the surface with the tracks left by its wheels, working from designs submitted by the public.

Another option is to have the public touch the Moon using a device that recreates the texture and topography of the surface via an interface that takes real-time data from sensors on board the rover.
