		<description>The gold foil represents highly reflective space-rated foil (seen on the Apollo landers).  The lunar surface is extremely hot during the day, and that heat is reflected off the lunar soil.  The foil reflects that light and heat away from the craft.

Water would be mined on the moon, along with methane, to sustain astronauts at a base, or to resupply and refuel deep space missions.
