Vacuum chamber feedthroughs
Feeds were installed through the wall of the vacuum chamber to convey
power, data and temperature readings. These provide richer control of
more active experimention than was possible with the passive chamber.
Right-angle heat strap
Composite heat straps regulate component temperatures within Astrobotic’s spacecraft. The image illustrates two different lay-ups that will be tested for comparative performance.
500 Meter Test
A prototype test succeeded with egress from the lander, 500-meter drive, image download and remote operation. The team’s technical meeting refined the program and design.
Chassis pan
The chassis pan is bowled for ground clearance and approach angle. The avionic mounts are sparse and clustered near the radiator for thermal reasons.
Camera head
The width of the camera head is determined by spread of the stereo pair. The depth of the camera head is determined by length of the telephoto zoom lens.
